Don’t know what it was that I was thinking at the time
Don’t know what it was that made me join the line
When a body in a box seems like nothing new
With the flag all red white and blue

And every one of us was young and naive
I was looking for something to believe
But they’ve taken my religion and turned it upside down
And they burned all the houses to the ground

And when it came on deep in the night
I was thrown down frozen with fear
And I prayed dear god don’t let this take too long
But it feels like forever to be gone
